Lucky Winners for a Cause!

At this year’s TVMA Annual Conference, the Foundation successfully hosted a major raffle fundraiser benefitting TVMF’s Veterinary Student Emergency Fund. This fund is an invaluable resource and provides grants to veterinary students in times of unexpected hardship.

Students receiving an emergency grant from TVMF may be faced with serious illnesses, accidents or other significant obstacles that could disrupt their well-being and path to becoming veterinarians. By offering timely assistance, TVMF’s Student Emergency Fund supports students through unexpected challenges and helps them stay on course with their studies.

The raffle successfully raised $5,000 thanks to many generous participants! The veterinary community in Texas is known for taking care of one another, and the raffle’s success further underscores a true commitment to caring for future generations of veterinarians.

“As both a student and TVMF Student Representative, I recognize the need to increase the availability of emergency resources for fellow veterinary students,” said Gabriel Platas, a second-year veterinary student at the Texas A&M School of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences. “Anything can happen to anyone. I am grateful this profession has a sense of responsibility to care for its future members.”

There are many ways TVMF makes a tangible difference in the lives of veterinary students, ensuring they receive the support they need to succeed in their academic and professional endeavors.
