In Memory Of: Buddy

We first saw Buddy at an adoption event in January of 2009 and I fell head over heels in love with him the minute I saw him. He was everything I wanted in a dog–cuddly, full of energy, afraid of nothing (almost) and very friendly, greeting everyone with a big wag and a big grin–underbite as some call it! He introduced us to so many good neighbors when we walked, and he brought joy to all who saw him because he would jump in the air anytime he saw something that was new to him or someone he knew–it was almost like he was levitating! Buddy liked to be where we were and would carry his little bed in his teeth from one room to another to be with us. He was a welcome guest at the homes of several friends when we could not take him with us on travels, and we kept friends’ cats and dogs whom he welcomed and loved playing with. We were blessed to have him with us 15 years–it is hard to understand how something so small, 9 lbs., could fill our whole house and our hearts, but he did!
