Supporting TVMF’s LEAP Program for Lifesaving Impact

Petco Love Invests in TVMF’s LEAP Program to Increase Access to Veterinary Care in Texas

Thank You, Petco Love! We are excited to announce that Texas Veterinary Medical Foundation (TVMF) received a $10,000 grant investment from national nonprofit Petco Love in support of the lifesaving work we provide for animals in Texas.

Petco Love’s lifesaving investment will support LEAP (Lending Economic Assistance for Pets) to provide essential veterinary care for pets belonging to Meals on Wheels clients all over the state. LEAP keeps beloved companion animals happy, healthy, and in loving homes. These pets provide life-saving companionship to improve the wellbeing of their homebound, elderly owners. LEAP sustains human-animal bonds and enriches the lives of pets and their pet parents alike.

“Petco Love knows pets are family and we strive to take care of them the best we can, though the reality is not everyone has equal access to veterinary care as many pet parents face difficult financial times,” said Susanne Kogut, President of Petco Love. “That’s why we are proud to support our partner animal welfare organizations in providing helpful services in their communities, so we can keep pets and their families together.”

In addition to the grant investment, Petco Love has also provided TVMF’s LEAP program with vaccinations through the Vaccinated and Loved campaign which reached its goal of distributing 2 MILLION free pet vaccines for family pets in November 2023! Together, Petco Love and TVMF are increasing access to veterinary care, removing barriers, and making pet families healthier and happier.

“LEAP is incredibly unique in that it operates on the community-level and through the philanthropic efforts of Texas veterinarians,” says Dr. Tracy McAdoo, TVMF President. “The support of LEAP from such an impactful national nonprofit like Petco Love shows their incredible commitment to serving our neighbors in need through veterinary medicine. We are thankful for their partnership.”
